Qualification, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin creation.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Experience with custom post types, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and WordPress hooks (actions/filters).
  • Familiarity with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg.
  • Understanding of WordPress architecture, database structure, and REST API.
  • Experience in website performance optimization, including caching, lazy loading, and minimizing code.
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and mobile-first development.
  • Proficient with version control tools, especially Git.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and implementation within WordPress environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements.
  • Convert design mockups (Figma, PSD, XD) into fully functional, responsive WordPress websites.
  • Customize and extend existing themes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Implement and manage custom post types, taxonomies, and ACF fields to structure dynamic content.
  • Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO, including image optimization and caching strategies.
  • Ensure websites are cross-browser compatible, mobile-friendly, and follow modern web standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, compatibility issues, and technical problems on WordPress sites.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and marketing tools as needed.
  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and project managers to deliver quality web experiences.
  • Maintain security best practices, perform regular updates, and manage backups and site migrations.
